Useful Adjectives
Describing People (Appearance):

Describing People (Personality):

Describing Things:
big, small, expensive, useful, broken, new, old, light, heavy

Part 2: Grammar Focus – Adjectives & “There is / There are”
Adjective Word Order:
• Before noun: “a big house”
• After be: “The house is big.”
There is / There are Examples:
• There is a TV in the room.
• There are many students in the class.

Part 3: Reading Practice
Text: My Favorite Room
My bedroom is my favorite place at home. It is small but very cozy. There is a bed, a desk, a chair, and a bookshelf. I like to read and study in my room. The walls are light blue, and there are posters of my favorite bands. I always keep it clean and neat.
Comprehension Questions:
• What room is described?
• How is the room described?

Part 4: Speaking Activity – Describe a Classmate
Find a classmate and ask them:
• What do you look like?
• How would your friends describe you?
• What is one place you like? Why?
Then present to the class:
“This is my friend _____. He/She is ______ and ______. He/She likes ______ because ______.”
Part 5: Writing Practice
Write a short paragraph (5–6 sentences) about a person or place you know well.
Include appearance, personality (if a person), and reasons you like them or the place.
Example:
My best friend’s name is Arif. He is tall and has short hair. He is very helpful and always makes jokes. He likes to play football. We often hang out after school.

A. Adjectives
Let’s practice how to pronounce common adjectives used to describe people, things, and places.
• Tall is pronounced like “tawl”
• Short sounds like “short” with a clear “sh” sound
• Friendly is pronounced as “FREN-dlee,” with emphasis on the first syllable
• Beautiful is said as “BYOO-ti-ful,” stressing the first syllable
